
The town of Gavrilov
Yam dates back to the 16th Century. It is situated in the south of the Yaroslavl
Region and is the administrative centre of the Gavrilov Yam Municipal Borough.
The town spreads over 1,100 hectares; its population is over
18 thousand people.
Gavrilov Yam has 197 industrial enterprises, the largest of
which are the linen factory and the machine building plant.
The town has 8 cultural and recreational centres, 7
kindergartens and 4 schools.
