Ivanovo City Crest

The city of Ivanovo is the capital of the Ivanovo Region in the Central European part of Russia, 319 km from Moscow, with a population of over 400,000.  Historians have failed to pinpoint the exact date of its foundation, but the first reference to it was found in documents dating back to 1561. 

The city is famous for its textile production and is one of the gems of the Golden Ring of Russia.
